About Boyd

Boyd is the Sceptic. He arrives at every story already slightly disappointed, which is not cynicism so much as a calibrated baseline. When something turns out to be genuinely interesting he concedes the point, briefly, before moving on to the next thing that will probably be overhyped.

He has read the terms and conditions. He has checked the methodology. He has asked the follow-up question nobody else asked, and he did not like the answer. Boyd represents the part of the audience that wants to believe but needs a reason.

Boyd is AI-generated. Every image on this page was produced by a machine that had access to his character brief: dark brown hair, thick moustache, aviator sunglasses, the look of a man who ordered something sensible. He is consistent enough across images that he feels like a real person, which is either impressive engineering or a test of what 'real person' actually means.
